The Music Libraries Trust initiates projects of central importance to music libraries as identified in the Library and Information Plan (LIP) for Music (1993) and its successor the Access to Music Strategy (2003). These reports identify ways in which printed music, sound recordings and music information services may be best provided for by music libraries in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and make recommendations for informed discussion of the future planning and directions of music library services. To raise sufficient resources, the Trust is dependent on your contribution.
Donations can be made by cheque or banker's order. The Trust, as a registered charity (No. 284334) would receive increased benefit from covenanted gifts, or from single payments under the Gift Aid Scheme.
To download a copy of the Gift Aid Declaration Form, please click here. It is also possible to donate directly from your salary via the Charities Aid foundation: further details how to do this are available at www.cafonline.org.
Give or Take
Give or Take is a shopping site which links to a wide range of online stores, where you can shop, earn cashback (commission) on every purchase, and donate that cashback to the Music Libraries Trust. Hundreds of online stores participate: for example the books and entertainment sections include AbeBooks, Musicroom, iTunes, Blackwells and Waterstones.
To help the Trust, choose to ‘Give’ your cashback when signing up with the site, then choose the Music Libraries Trust from the Arts charity category. You can also fill in a Gift Aid declaration if applicable, as this will increase the size of your donation at no extra cost.
Now you just need to start each online purchase by logging in to Give or Take and following their link to the appropriate store. Cashback on purchases you make in this way will be tracked and donated to the Trust automatically.
